Hello, I'm Audrey! I graduated from Stanford in 2025 with a B.S. in Chemistry (GPA: 3.99) and minor in Music. I became passionate about tutoring in high school, where I served as a Peer Tutor in English, AP Calculus AB and BC, and AP Chemistry. Since coming to college, I have tutored several students in high school level math in addition to SAT preparation, most recently helping a student improve her SAT Reading and Writing score from a 690 to a 770 in a little over three months.
My approach for tutoring is to be flexible based on each student's individual preferences, but a strategy that I often use is to break down difficult concepts into components in order for a student to clearly understand the connections between them. My favorite part of teaching is to help students look past the difficulty of concepts and think about how they can simplify and apply their knowledge to problem solving, and I strive to make my sessions as interactive and engaging as I can.
Typical sessions involve working through homework or practice problems together. I enjoy drawing out concepts to present them in a more visual and creative manner, and I always come prepared to sessions with examples and the necessary lecture materials.
Other applicable experiences including serving as a Resident Assistant for both high school and university-level students, managing a free health clinic, and working as a Teaching Assistant in Stanford's EMT-preparation class and chemistry department. These three activities have helped me develop the leadership, communication, and supervision skills that are helpful as a tutor.
Please feel free to message me with any questions! Looking forward to working with you!
