About Phoenix

Bio

I’m an electrical engineer at an aerospace company with a strong background in math, from algebra and geometry all the way through calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. I use math every day at work, and I bring that real world experience into my tutoring. In college I earned a 3.8 GPA in electrical engineering, and the way I learned to really understand math instead of just memorizing formulas is exactly what I share with my students.

For the past 4 years, I’ve helped middle school and high school students with their classes, homework, and exam prep. When I tutor, I like to slow things down, break problems into simple steps, use clear examples, and connect new ideas to things the student already understands. I am patient, I encourage questions, and I keep explaining in different ways until it finally clicks.

My goal is for every student to leave a session feeling more confident, less stressed, and with tools they can actually use on their own. Whether your child is trying to catch up, raise a grade, or get ahead for the next class, I want math to feel clear and manageable, not scary or overwhelming. Over time, I also want them to learn how to study on their own when I’m not there, so they can sit down, focus, and start to see the rewards of really understanding the material for themselves.

Electrical Engineering

I’m a UCLA Electrical Engineering student and a practicing power electronics engineer, with hands-on experience designing and debugging real hardware (DC-DC converters, control loops, and circuit boards). I tutor core EE topics like circuit analysis, electronics (diodes/MOSFETs/op-amps), signals & systems, and basic controls, and I can also help with labs, problem sets, and exam prep. My sessions focus on building intuition first, then drilling the exact steps and techniques professors expect on tests. If you bring your homework or lecture notes, we’ll turn them into a clear, repeatable approach you can use on your own.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I am an electrical engineer working in the aerospace industry with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. I’ve gone through and succeeded in many technical and behavioral interviews for internships and full-time engineering roles, so I understand what hiring managers are really looking for. I help students and early-career professionals sharpen their answers, organize their stories, and practice common interview questions in a structured, low-pressure way. Together we can work on mock interviews, resume talking points, and clear strategies so you walk into your interview feeling prepared and confident.
