I taught high school science for 18 years and hold a California Single Subject credential in Chemistry, Physics, and Biological Sciences. Before teaching, I worked as a quality-control lab analyst running chromatography and spectroscopy, so I teach chemistry the way it’s actually used, not just how it’s tested.

My approach: I find out exactly where you’re stuck, explain the idea in plain language, then work through problems with you until you can do them on your own. I break big topics like stoichiometry, kinematics, and genetics into steps you can repeat on a test. I also help with lab reports and technical writing; I coached a Solar Cup team whose technical reports won first place.
I hold an M.A. in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from Cal State LA and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Sacramento State. I’m also CompTIA Security+ certified and tutor Security+ for career changers moving into IT.
I’m available evenings and weekends. Message me with your class, your textbook or syllabus, and what’s giving you trouble, and we’ll make a plan.
