I enjoy tutoring kids of all ages. Grades that I specialize in include 9 and above because their assigned reading asks them to think more critically of the content, and I love nothing more than to push students to connect seemingly insignificant details to the author's larger themes.

But also I have the patience to work with younger grades; they sometimes get easily distracted, and my experience has taught me to keep the topic under discussion interesting, and the mood positive to make learning enjoyable for any age.

I most recently worked with college students who interned at the company I worked at and make myself available to family who attend college and need extra support. My past tutoring experience includes visiting student's homes around my neighborhood 2-3 times a week to tutor in either English and Math and volunteering with Project MAC at UCLA to provide tutoring and mentoring to at risk youth with limited resources at an after-school location.

I am an outstanding tutor because I care that you learn in a stress-free environment. Reading material exposes us to some really awesome topics - like love, betrayal, motherhood, technology, and censorship - using at times very crazy and complicated characters and situations. And the words on the page are not always written in the most easy-to-understand English.

But this is where I come in. I am able to break down all those concepts with you into plain English without losing any of the author's quality. Details matter. Poetry matters. Ideas matter. But understanding what the heck a person is saying maters most. So let's have fun figuring that out so that your essay gets a perfect score! :)

I probably like a lot of the things you like: tacos, Lady Gaga, kickboxing, Naruto. So I'm not some weird old person; I will actually connect what we are reading to things that apply to our lives.
