Sign Language

For the past several years I have been in the field of educational interpreting. Through the years I have had the pleasure of working with an array of different age groups and signing styles. After majoring in Deaf Studies and taking my ITP at Golden West College, I went on to work for NOCCCD. There, I interpreted for many subjects including: Human Sexuality, Cooking, English, Math Theory, Social Skills, Independent living Skills, Microsoft Word, Computer Skills, and Community Resources, watercolor, oil painting and drawing. Concurrently, while working for NOCCCD I hosted a successful a deaf social in Huntington Beach. Sadly, I had to give up the event when I relocated to Mammoth Lakes, CA, and worked for Bishop Unified School District. Upon returning to SoCal, I worked for Centralia Unified School District. Where I also taught weekly ASL lessons to all of the hearing classrooms k-6! So much fun! I currently work at California State University Northridge (CSUN) as a services coordinator. Interpreting is my passion. I fell in love with the language and culture and enjoy sharing my passion with others who are enthusiastic and eager to learn!

Exceptional ASL Teacher

Jacqueline has made learning sign language really fun and approachable for my daughter. She is clear, detailed and patient. You can also tell that she really cares about both the language and the students. Jacqueline also worked hard to accommodate a busy high school student schedule which is amazing! We will be continuing to use her!

Knowledgeable, helpful and patient

Jacqueline was able to teach me how to properly sign. She is very patient and an excellent tutor. I will continue having her tutor me so that I am able to understand and sign fluently.

Needed help fast and got it

Jacqueline helped me prepare for a quiz I wasn't ready for. It was my first use of Wyzant, and it was a grade-saver. I'd 100% recommend her tutoring to anyone learning ASL and the Wyzant platform is much better than other tutoring services I as looking at that require you to pay for multi-hour blocks before you even meet the tutor.

Very helpful with good communication skills.

Jacqueline worked on a script with an actor that needed to learn ASL. She taught a number of fundamentals as well as the lines.
