I hold an M.Phil in Cognitive Science from Jadavpur University and a Master's degree in Philosophy. My academic and research background has focused on developmental cognitive psychology, learning processes, language development, and Theory of Mind. During my time as a Project Fellow at the Cognitive Science Centre and Cognitive Science Programme at Jadavpur University, I conducted research involving children of different developmental backgrounds, including studies on cognition, perception, autism, and mindreading abilities. I have also completed specialized coursework in Cognitive Neurology, which further strengthened my understanding of learning, reasoning, and cognitive development.
In addition to my academic research experience, I have approximately five years of teaching experience working with students from kindergarten through high school. I have provided instruction in foundational subjects, including reading, language arts, social studies, and elementary and middle school Languages, mathematics, Science and Social Studies. My teaching experience has included one-on-one tutoring as well as small-group learning environments. I work with students of varying learning styles and academic abilities, helping them improve subject understanding, homework performance, study habits, and overall confidence.
My teaching approach focuses on breaking complex concepts into simple, manageable steps and adapting lessons to the individual needs of each student. Drawing from my background in cognitive science, I emphasize active learning, critical thinking, and concept mastery rather than memorization. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities. My goal is to help students build strong academic foundations while fostering curiosity and independent learning skills.
