Hi there! My name is Katharina. I recently graduated this Spring from the Communication Studies master's program at CSUF and have plans to continue my education next year to become a professor. I have been a tutor since 2019 working with students from first grade through adulthood specializing in essay writing, reading and grammar, test prep, public speaking, presentation help, and ESL. From 2023-2025, while in grad school, I taught an introductory communication course to undergraduates that covered public speaking, communication theory, and culture.
Through my years in education, I have developed (and am continuing to develop) a clear approach that centers building student confidence through cultivating a supporting learning environment. I believe making mistakes and asking questions are crucial aspects of the learning process. I don't expect perfection, only perseverance!
I have had lessons with tutors from Wyzant in the past and know how impactful these one-on-one lessons can be. I am 100% passionate about and dedicated to my students' success and well-being, and want to lend myself in the most beneficial way to their individual way of learning. Personalized tutoring allows for collaboration and discussion that is not always feasible in the classroom. As my student, I want to hear your thoughts. This is your journey, and I'm here to help in any way that I can.
To current or aspiring college students - I have gained invaluable experience of what is expected from colleges through my experience as both university student and teacher. It is not uncommon to struggle in college, especially in those first few years when everything is so new. I experienced those same difficulties! If you have any questions about college or grad school, I believe I could be of help.
Please reach out if you have any questions. I am more than happy to chat or to schedule a trial session.
