I’m Nathan Weidenbenner. My introduction to tutoring occurred in college in the writing center at Ohio State. I earned a bachelor’s in English and after moving to LA, I work as writing tutor at Santa Monica College. I’ve been tutoring test prep (both verbal and math) for over 8 years. Most of my experience is with the SAT, but I’ve helped students prepare for the ISEE and GRE as well. I seek to foster student independence and encourage students to “learn how they learn” because it is such a critical skill. One of my favorite aspects of tutoring is the one-on-one dynamic and the opportunity to engage with a student closely to better understand each student’s individual perspective and challenges.
In high school, I was on the tennis team and participated in marching band. These days, I enjoy playing golf and tennis, cooking, and traveling. Fun fact: I grew up in four different states across the Midwest: Nebraska, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois.
I’m always happy to meet with prospective students and parents and answer any questions they have. Please reach out and I’ll be prompt with my reply!
