Hi, I'm Sydney! I'm a graduate of Stanford University, where I received my Master's in Sociology and my Bachelor's in Art History and Digital Humanities. I love working with students to help them become more confident in their ideas and equip them with the skills to succeed in the classroom. My approach to tutoring is personalized and goal-oriented, and I want to make sure you leave every session with a clear idea of your next step.
I have 8 years of experience as a tutor, in subjects ranging from Calculus to Psychology to English. I have worked with hundreds of students in one-on-one sessions, developed and taught workshops to college students on writing research papers and presenting their research, and have worked writing copy for podcasts, museums, and marketing.
If you need more convincing, I received the Outstanding Thesis Award in the Sociology Department, as well as the Stanford Alumni Association's Award of Excellence for my community-engaged work during my thesis project. I've been featured in the Stanford Report for my historical research, which I also helped acquire a $30,000 grant for.
Outside of tutoring, I love hiking, cooking, and improv! I'm a quick responder, but if you haven't heard back from me, I'm probably stuck in the stacks at my public library or training for my next marathon. Hope to meet you soon! :)
