I have a doctorate in Literacy and Language and currently teach. Also, I have had various positions in my educational career: Literacy Specialist and Literacy Leader, HS English AP and Composition, JR/SR English, Adjunct Professor. I currently teach full-time at the HS level.

I am a professional, who knows a variety of strategies and can make a large difference in a short amount of time, and who will model how to be successful beside just giving direct instruction.

I used to be a literacy specialist in district where we had to incorporate common course goals, and learning objectives. I guided different teachers into integrating common core goals, and breaking them down into various objectives. From that we would create different backwards, design learning lessons. We will align then all of those together. Also, I implement those on a daily basis and list those common core standards on the board to ensure that I am accomplishing those through instruction

I have learned sheet reading music and was in drum core, marching bands, jazz bands, and currently have been members of rock bands, for 20 years now. I know proper technique and can model that for.

I have taught varied levels of writing : advanced placement language and composition, all grade levels from 5-12, and also have taught Bachelors of Masters level college courses

I have presented in various arenas. As a literacy specialist, I have presented to both teachers and administrators. As a researcher, I have presented at conferences and in front of dissertation committee members.

I have researched and written abstracts as well as dissertation and qualitative and other types of research papers. I’ve also taught courses which required longer papers of various thesis type and literature review types of papers.
