Ah Mathematics. The bane of existence for many a child. The mighty struggle of all struggles. Math can be confusing, confounding, careless, and cruel. It can make you want to grab your hair and tear it out. It can make you want to toss your textbook across the room and swear off math forever. Math can be relentless and unforgiving, if you let it. Believe me, nobody understands this better than I.

However, math can also be a beautiful thing. It can build roads, make airplanes fly, and send rockets into space. It can even help you cook a meal, drive your car, or track the stats of your favorite sports star. Math is a part of our everyday life whether we realize it or not, and that is why it is so important that you learn about it. And maybe the most beautiful thing about math is that it doesn't have to be this miserable, mind numbing experience for you. Math can be easy, invigorating, and FUN! I want to show you how.

No matter who you are or what your educational level, I am totally confident that I can bring you clarity in whatever math subject you are studying. I care deeply about my students and I believe in my heart that anybody can succeed in math with enough effort. I will work with you, guide you, and motivate you to reach a deeper understanding and appreciation for math.

With my robust background in both Electrical Engineering and tutoring for some of the most difficult at-risk student cases, I will bring plenty of experience and knowledge to the table to ensure that you are the most successful that you can be.

Hi, I'm Greg, and I was the nerdy kid. You know the one. The guy with dorky clothes, dorkier glasses, and A's on all his assignments. Instead of having awkward interactions with all the cool kids, I was studying with my nose buried in a book. I was fascinated by the world and always curious to ask more questions.

Nothing has changed about that. School always came very easily to me because I had a strong penchant for math and science, and I actually enjoyed learning and the learning process. When I was in 1st grade, I scored in the 99th percentile on an aptitude test and immediately got transferred to a better school. I was a regular participant in math competitions, spelling bees, and even the speech league.

By the time I finished graduate school, I had become much more socially adjusted (thank goodness), but I was still a big nerd at heart and my love for math never diminished. I got my Master's of Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0/4.0 GPA all while I was working a full time job as a Medium Power Transformer Designer. Eventually, I took a job with AT&T working on their internet backbone as a Network Engineer.

It was there that I volunteered for We Teach Science, an organization that pairs STEM professionals with at-risk 7th and 8th graders for algebra tutoring. Working with these amazing kids, many of whom came from low-income single parent households, was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Eventually, I came to the realization that the corporate world wasn't for me, and I wanted to do something with my life that I felt was truly fulfilling and meaningful. And that is how I ended up here; ready and eager to help you improve your math skills and make the jump to a newfound appreciation for math.

If you want to improve your math skills and are ready to make the first step, then contact me now. I will be in touch as soon as possible so we can discuss your needs, and I can start creating and crafting the best experience possible for you to maximize results.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Beyond getting all A's in math when I was in school, I also worked as an engineer for several years, which is very math intensive. I have been able to successfully integrate those experiences into my teaching. So not only do I know the math inside and out, I know how to teach it so it is easily understandable. I am certain I can help you improve your grade in Algebra 1.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. The coursework involved in that degree entirely revolves around Algebra, Geometry, and advanced Calculus mathematics, so I have a thorough understanding of Algebra 2 and all of its concepts because I use them ALL the time. I have tutored many students to successfully raise their grades in their algebra courses through my dedication and deep understanding of the subject matter.
Calculus,

Calculus

As an Electrical Engineer, nearly all of my engineering classes centered around advanced calculus mathematics (this was in addition to all the actual calculus courses I was taking), so I have a solid foundation across all calculus concepts. I also spent the last 3 months relearning AP Calculus AB and BC just so I could provide a better experience to you. I believe periodically going back and reviewing calculus is requisite to providing the best service I can.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. The coursework involved in that degree revolves around Geometry and advanced Calculus mathematics. I have also spent over 100 hours tutoring Geometry with many satisfied clients as shown in my reviews. Not only do I know the math inside and out, I know how to teach it as well.
Physics,

Physics

As an engineer with a masters degree, physics was a requisite class for me to pass and get my degree, so I have plenty of experience with the subject material. Moreover, I love physics! It is applied mathematics at it's finest and I have always been interested in learning more about it. I have taught and currently teach several students in physics and they love how easily I can explain seemingly difficult concepts to them. Let me clarify physics for you and make it easy.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

As the foundational core to all mathematics, Prealgebra is vital to learn right the first time by using a qualified tutor. I have successfully helped many students build that foundational core or fix cracks that were affecting them later on. My positive reviews demonstrate that my teaching methods are effective and powerful in helping kids learn and improve in Prealgebra.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I have a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, which focuses heavily on advanced Calculus mathematics, so obviously I have a solid basis in Precalculus! My positive reviews demonstrate that I am an effective and superior tutor when it comes to Precalculus. I have tutored many students in Precalculus and helped make difficult concepts seem easy through my patient and clear explanations.

Math is no longer a struggle!

My 12 year old daughter has been working with Greg for several months. We are very pleased with his work. Math was a bit of a struggle for her the last few years and that changed after hiring Greg. Greg is great at figuring out where my daughter needed to go back and review fundamentals in order to set her up for success down the line. He has also been creative in keeping her engaged during their lessons.

Fabulous All Around

Greg has been more than helpful. He was encouraging, kind, and reliable as well. Working with Greg helped my son score a 9 in both math sections on his ISEE! All in all, it was a great experience with great results! I highly recommend hiring Greg as a tutor.

Excellent tutor

Greg has had five online sessions with my children. We never met in person but made a great connection in the online sessions. Greg is a devoted, kind, and very knowledgeable tutor and my children have truly enjoyed working with him. I warmly recommend him.

Best tutor ever!

Greg is really incredible. My son went from C+ to A in one semester. The most important part is not the grade, is the quality of tutoring and the kindness and patience Greg has towards my son and family.

Greg is positive, organized, and very effective

Today's session for my 11.5 year old was great. She dreads (hate might be closer) Math, but he made her feel better about herself and her skills right away and I know our summer training plan to beef up skills will be successful.

Great tutor!

My 8th grade son was having trouble with a topic in his geometry class. He worked with Greg one time and was back on track. Then, more recently, we called on Greg again to work with my son to review for an upcoming high school math placement test. The test would be covering algebra - including many concepts that my son had not looked at since he took the class a year ago. Greg came three times to review the material and was a great help. They sat and went over a bunch of algebra concepts, did some problems and generally refreshed my son's memory on the subject. Thanks Greg for helping him to do well on an important placement exam!

Great first session!

Professional and extremely patient. Greg arrived on-time, was ready to work and made my son feel instantly comfortable. Definitely a positive experience and we are looking forward to future sessions.
