I’m a California based social studies teacher with more than 10 years of classroom and tutoring experience. I hold a B.A. in History with honors from the University of Iowa and a clear California credential in Social Studies. I’ve taught grades 6–12 in Minnesota and California, including seven years at a private middle school in Los Angeles, where I served as the social studies department chair. I’ve also led curriculum development, founded a Model UN program, directed high school theater, and I even competed in the inaugural Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament.
I tutor history, government, geography, and English. I teach with patience, warmth, and maybe most important, some humor! Students learn better when they’re comfortable, engaged, and not afraid to get something wrong. History, fortunately, gives us plenty of strange people making questionable decisions!
Outside of teaching, I’m a dad of three, a sports fan. an enthusiastic home cook, a lifelong music fan, and a guitar player. I look forward to hearing from you!
