I am a UCLA-trained classical pianist with over fifteen years of teaching experience, working with students ranging from early beginners to advanced pre-professional pianists. I completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music under Professor Inna Faliks on full scholarship and am beginning my Master of Music at UCLA, also on full scholarship. Alongside my teaching, I maintain an active career as a concert pianist, performing regularly throughout the United States and Europe, which directly informs my approach to technique, musical interpretation, and performance preparation.
My teaching experience spans private one-on-one instruction, long-term weekly study, and performance-oriented coaching. I have taught children, teenagers, and adults in both in-person and online settings, adapting my methods to each student’s age, learning style, and goals. My approach emphasizes strong technical foundations, healthy physical habits at the piano, musical understanding of the score, and the development of confidence and independence. I draw from both traditional European pedagogy and modern performance psychology to help students progress efficiently and sustainably.
Over the years, my students have achieved success in local, state, and national competitions, including MTAC, CAPMT, and MTNA events, and have gone on to strong music programs and advanced study. I place a strong emphasis on consistency, clear communication, and individualized guidance, whether a student is studying piano recreationally or preparing for auditions, competitions, or advanced performance opportunities.
