Hi! My name is Angi. I have been a teacher for ten years, mostly in independent schools. Middle School History and Humanities have been my primary focus. I have also taught accelerated summer High School History courses. Recently, I was teaching in Grades 3-6 as well. Therefore, my range of skills for supporting students truly spans Grades 3-12. American Studies is my passion! From History to English to Writing (essays, dbqs, grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, etc.), I can bring seasoned expertise to any student needing to advance their skills and confidence in these academic areas. I love to support a student with specific assignments from their school or by creating mini assignments to help nurture a particular skill. Responsively centering student needs and energy is key to my approach, whether teaching a class of 15-25 students or engaging in 1-on-1 tutoring as well.

And though I have mostly taught in full classrooms – both in person and online during the pandemic – I have also supported several students as their weekly tutor over the past three years. They appreciate how I respectfully listen to what their needs are and create lessons and assignments that reflect their interests and academic/skills-related goals.

I also have a 13-year history of work in film production and the joyful experience as a full-time mom of two. These aspects of my life help me bring both a creative and curiosity-driven approach to teaching while also being compassionate and comfortable navigating the support that parents need while supporting their child’s academic journey.
