I am a mathematics educator and graduate student currently pursuing an M.A. in Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. I earned my B.S. in Mathematics from UCLA in June 2025, and I plan to pursue adjunct professor positions at community colleges beginning in early 2027. My academic background has prepared me to tutor a wide range of mathematics courses, including algebra, precalculus, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, linear algebra, differential equations, and proof-based mathematics.

I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience with students from high school through college. At UCSC, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for Calculus II, Calculus I, and Precalculus, where I led weekly discussion sections, designed worksheets, graded exams and assignments, and facilitated exam review sessions. I have also tutored community college students at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and Irvine Valley College, including nontraditional and returning adult learners, and I currently provide individualized instruction in Precalculus and AP Statistics.

My tutoring approach is patient, individualized, and concept-focused. I try to help students understand why methods work rather than simply memorizing procedures, while also giving them practical strategies for homework, quizzes, and exams. I often create targeted practice problems, break difficult ideas into manageable steps, and adapt my explanations to each student’s background and learning style. Because I have worked in one-on-one, small-group, classroom, and drop-in tutoring settings, I am comfortable supporting students with many different goals, whether they are rebuilding foundational skills, preparing for an AP exam, or strengthening higher-level mathematical reasoning.

Approved Subjects

Calculus

Calculus

My calculus background includes extensive study of single-variable and multivariable calculus, real analysis, and differential equations. I am familiar with the full AP Calculus AB curriculum, AP-style multiple-choice questions, and free-response expectations. Past students I have worked with have earned scores of 5 on both the AP Calculus AB and AP Precalculus exams. I am skilled at diagnosing errors, identifying prerequisite gaps, reviewing student work, and creating targeted practice that helps students become more accurate and independent. I also emphasize clear mathematical reasoning and complete, well-organized solutions.
