I'm Andrew! I graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from University of California, San Diego, with a GPA of 4.0. Throughout my education, when I've asked for help or gone to office hours, it always helped me when the professor and/or teaching assistants got to know me personally and tailored their help to my optimal learning methods, and giving a variety of different explanations, as sometimes it just takes a different perspective to make things "click". My focus as a tutor is to make personal connections with my clients and relate the material to their hobbies, interests, and learning strategies, providing a personalized, tailor-made tutoring experience. I will happily provide difference explanations and examples that go beyond the textbook or the lecture materials into order to reach those "lightbulb" moments, and provide practice questions until each topic is mastered. My tutoring sessions are not only productive and informative, but also fun!
Most recently, I have been a TA for multiple Computer Science courses at my undergraduate university, including Theory of Computation and Computer Organization and Programming for 2 years, where I held discussion sections and weekly office hours both online and in-person. In addition, I have many (5 - 7) years of tutoring experience in both formal and informal settings, ranging from casually tutoring peers in high school, to being an official after-school Math tutor at my high school where I tutored any Math subject.
I am available to tutor any grade school-level Math and Undergraduate Math up to and including Calculus III, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics, as well as any Computer Science courses and topics up to the undergraduate level.
