I have experience teaching preschool through second grade students (children whose ages range from 4 to 8 years old). I was a transitional kindergarten teacher for three years, and I have three summers’ experience teaching a multi-age classroom during summer school. It brings me joy seeing my students learn new things.
I enjoy using hands-on approaches with students, as well as incorporating song and movement into lessons. I feel this helps students build connections in their brain and retain information more effectively.
My current experience is with groups of children in a classroom setting - which can be challenging because of student behaviors or a diverse student population. My goal with tutoring is to help primary-grade students build a strong foundation in reading and math to help them be successful. I find that positive encouragement helps students strive to do well.
I can help out your preschool through second grade student with the daily homework struggle, provide remediation to help fill in any gaps in learning due to the pandemic, or provide enrichment to help students excel.
