I've always loved teaching, and in 2022, I began teaching film at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in downtown Los Angeles. I taught senior year college students, on campus and had a great experience. The students gave me stellar reviews as well. My class was specifically focused on helping them conceive, develop, produce and edit their first films. Sadly, the school was then purchased by another university, and the film program was shut down and this position was eliminated in June of 2023.
I'm looking for ways to continue pursuing my passion for teaching video production, content creation and video editing and think that tutoring online could be a great way to grow as an instructor. I have two young children so I'm comfortable teaching all ages, but the topics that I cover will be best suited for middle school and above. I have a BSC from Ohio University ('00) and some post graduate education from the Vancouver Film School.
