Hi, I'm Margaret! and am currently working as a kindergarten teacher at Challenger School. I am seeking a career transition from classroom teaching to tutoring.

I graduated magna cum laude from SFSU in 2019 with a BS in dietetics. My major involved the clinical and scientific aspects of nutrition. I got A's and B's in classes such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, advanced nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and nutrition education & communication. I have always been interested in the biological sciences more than other subjects, especially how they relate to people.

I started working as a dietetic assistant in a clinical setting but later pivoted to education.. I have worked as an instructor for companies such as TechKnowHow, Inc., RAFT, BrainVyne, and codeCampus leading educational activities relating to LEGO robotics, engineering, biological and physical sciences, and several coding languages and educational tools such as Scratch, ScratchJr, Minecraft EDU, Python, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript. My work at Challenger School has given me strong foundational skills such as conceptual teaching, student accountability, measuring improvement, and maintaining academic rigor.

I will accommodate and work with neurodiversity as I have personal experience with Down's syndrome, ADHD, autism, and mood disorders. I will meet you or your child where they are at and work with any concerns you may have. I believe that everyone can succeed with the necessary support and practice, and that no one should be blamed for struggling. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and cooking.
