Hi! I’m a Yale-trained neuroscientist with a PhD in Neuroscience and a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. I have extensive experience teaching biology, neuroscience, and related life sciences, including serving as a Teaching Fellow for six Yale courses across the undergraduate, graduate, and medical-school levels. My doctoral research focused on the biology of neurodegeneration and Alzheimer’s disease, and I have authored five peer-reviewed scientific publications. I can help students with biology, neuroscience, cellular and molecular biology, research methods, scientific writing, data interpretation, and related coursework.
My goal as a tutor is not simply to help students memorize material, but to make complicated concepts intuitive. I break challenging topics into manageable pieces, identify where understanding is breaking down, and connect new information to concepts the student already knows. I’m equally comfortable helping a student work through difficult course material, prepare for an exam, interpret a scientific paper, develop a research project, or improve the clarity and logic of scientific writing.
I have taught and mentored students from the high-school level through undergraduate, graduate, and medical school in classroom and one-on-one settings. In addition to my Yale teaching experience, I have mentored high-school and undergraduate students through STEM programs and helped develop mentorship programming serving hundreds of students. I especially enjoy helping students move from memorizing isolated facts to genuinely understanding how the material fits together.
