Biology is one of my strongest academic areas, and I was recognized as a USA Biology Olympiad Semifinalist, reflecting both deep content knowledge and strong critical thinking skills. In addition to biology, I tutor chemistry, precalculus, and calculus, helping students build analytical and problem-solving abilities. Having completed college-level chemistry at UC Berkeley, I bring a strong foundation that allows me to support students in both high school and advanced coursework.
One of my passions is supporting students in foundational math, reading, and science to help them build strong skills and confidence early on. I have also worked with students identified by their teachers as needing additional academic support, which has strengthened my ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and confidence levels. Having taken the ACT myself and scoring the highest in the English and Reading sections, I offer targeted strategies to help students improve.
My teaching philosophy centers on conceptual understanding rather than memorization, which leads to stronger retention and long-term success. I tailor each session to the student, whether that means reinforcing reading and phonics skills for elementary students, strengthening writing and comprehension for middle schoolers, or guiding high school students through advanced coursework. I primarily work one-on-one virtually, allowing me to adjust strategies to match each student’s learning style.
Families often choose to work with me because of my experience, academic achievements, and genuine passion for teaching. I aim not only to improve grades and test scores, but also to help students feel more confident and capable in their academic abilities.
