I’m Claude! I graduated magna cum laude with honors from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Philosophy, and I’m currently pursuing my Master's in Computer Engineering. I'm a passionate, patient tutor with a strong academic background and a deep commitment to helping students grow into confident, capable learners. My areas of expertise include computer science, mathematics (algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics), English, and writing.
I have experience working with students from 1st grade through high school, and I tailor my approach to meet each learner’s unique needs. My tutoring style focuses on building strong foundations, using real-world analogies to make abstract concepts click, and creating lesson plans that first paint the big picture before breaking topics down into more easily digestible pieces. I believe in helping students prove to themselves that they are capable learners. One of my most memorable experiences was working with a middle school student at St. Patrick’s School in San Jose who exclaimed, “It actually works!” after mastering a math concept she had told me she would never understand. Seeing students transform their self-doubt into confidence is what inspires me most.
Outside of tutoring, I’ve worked as a summer camp counselor and in research and software engineering roles at Nokia and LogRhythm (now Exabeam). These experiences strengthened my technical knowledge and taught me how to make learning engaging, supportive, and fun. I’m here not only to help students succeed in school, but to empower them with skills and self-belief that last beyond the classroom.
