Hi! My name is Hunter Scott, and I'm passionate about helping students truly understand biology, science, or whatever topic they need help with! I earned both my B.S. and M.S. in Biology from University of California, Santa Barbara, where I also worked as a teaching assistant for two years in courses such as: Genetics, General Biology, and Psychology. During that time, I led discussion sections, broke down complex material into simpler tangible tasks, and worked closely with students to build both their confidence and problem-solving skills.
In May 2026, I will begin my MPH/DO dual degree at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine, continuing my path toward a career in medicine. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation in the life sciences, as well as experience applying these concepts in real-world clinical and research settings.
My approach to tutoring is beginning with understanding how each student learns best. As a teaching assistant, I saw that every student understands material differently, so I focus on adapting my explanations to fit your style. We will also spending some time making sure you are able to explain the concept back to me, to ensure full understanding. I aim to go beyond surface-level answers and help you break down problems, recognize patterns, and build lasting understanding.
I can work with students at a variety of levels, from elementary school to college, and I especially enjoy helping with biology and related science courses. Whether you're preparing for an exam, working through challenging homework, or trying to strengthen your foundation, I'm here to help you feel more confident and capable in the subject.
