Hi! I’m a UCSB student majoring in Financial Mathematics & Statistics with a minor in Education. I specialize in teaching Elementary Math, SAT Math, TOEFL Reading & Writing, and Chinese (Mandarin). With both a strong quantitative background and formal education training, I design structured yet supportive lessons that help students truly understand concepts instead of memorizing shortcuts. My academic training allows me to break down complex math ideas into simple, intuitive steps — especially helpful for students who struggle with confidence.

I currently teach TOEFL Reading & Writing and have extensive experience working with elementary and middle school students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I’ve worked as an after-school teacher at an elementary school in California, where I supported homework completion and designed engaging learning activities. I also assist in K–12 Chinese instruction and founded a bilingual tutoring initiative that integrates subject learning with language development. My students often say I explain things “clearly and patiently” and help them feel less anxious about tests.

As someone who grew up in the Chinese education system and now studies in the U.S., I deeply understand both exam-oriented learning and holistic education. I don’t just prepare students for exams — I help them build long-term academic confidence, logical thinking skills, and independent study habits.
