Experienced Computer Science Tutor, Specializing in Java!

Hi everyone! I’m Raagini. I graduated UIUC about 2.5 years ago with a degree in Environmental Science and currently work in the tech industry as a Technical Consultant. You might be thinking, but you’re a Computer Science tutor?! On day one of college, I realized that Environmental Science wasn’t the major for me. However, with multiple scholarships attached to my major, there was almost no option in changing majors.

I realized I wanted to study Computer Science and Business. So I decided to take extra classes for both on the side. During these classes, it was especially difficult for me to keep up because I was someone with absolutely no experience in coding. I kept going, however, and discovered that I really loved coding and that it really wasn’t all that scary.

Going through the struggle myself, I know first hand how hard and scary it can be to tackle such a subject. This is why I aim to create a class which can remove these barriers and make it easy and enjoyable to learn complex concepts.

I have previously tutored a 7th grader who was able to learn her way up to college level coding. The beauty of my class is that we start extremely small and basic and before you know it, you’ll be writing code like a pro.

I love to benefit my students as much as possible, which is why I provide notes for each session, along with powerpoint slides, and optional (fun) homework!

I took Java courses throughout high school and college and am well versed with the subject. I have a whole curriculum built around the programming language and am able to explain concepts in depth.

I also use the language for my job on a daily basis and am able to see the real world implications of learning this language!
