Hi! I’m Valeria, and I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) tutor with 5–6 years of experience working with students from middle school through college. I tutor a variety of subjects including math, English, science, and Spanish, but my true passion is helping students feel confident in math and supporting them with college planning. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Civil Engineering, and I also have hands-on experience in structural engineering and construction project management. These experiences shape the way I teach, I love breaking down complex ideas, showing students the “why” behind each step, and connecting math to real-life problem solving.
I’m currently completing my Master’s in Education and teaching credential, and I’ve taught 8th and 9th-grade math in both middle school and high school settings. Over the years, I’ve been trusted to tutor students with a wide range of abilities preparing for advanced coursework. I’ve even been recommended to teach professors’ children and family friends, which has helped me build strong, long-term relationships with the families I serve.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel supported, capable, and proud of their growth.
