I completed formal TA training at UC Santa Cruz and was selected as an Academic Excellence Program tutor. I tutored college students for over a year in Calculus for Science, Engineering & Mathematics, and Intro Physics. I conducted weekly sessions, including group (5-10 students), small group (2-3 students), and 1x1 sessions. My efforts helped students achieve high grades, with some earning As. In high school, I also tutored 9th and 10th-grade students in Pre-Calculus, Algebra 1 and 2, and Pre-Algebra. My tutoring style ensures that all students are on the same page before moving on to new topics. I focus on building self-esteem by helping students realize their potential. My approach includes walking through problems step-by-step, assigning individual or group problems to solve independently, reviewing solutions to ensure understanding, and providing practice problems and additional resources for further practice.
I have strong credentials, including a SAT Math Level 2 score of 730 and an ACT Math score of 33. My AP exam scores include a 4 in AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, and AP Physics. I cleared the GIFTED Math placement exam and was placed into Advanced Pre-Algebra in 6th grade. I graduated high school with high honors and received the Principal Academic Excellence Award. My grades in relevant courses include a B+ in Adv Pre-Algebra, an A- in Adv Algebra, an A in Algebra 2, Precalculus/Trig, and Honors Calculus, and a B in AP Calculus AB. Additionally, I exceeded standards in the CA Early Assessment Program for Math.
