Hello, future students, my name is Gustav and I recently graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara. I graduated in the top 10% of my class with a 3.8 GPA. After school I decided to study for the MCAT and after two months of studying ended up getting in the 90th percentile on the test. During high school and in college I tutored students in a wide variety of science subjects weekly. Throughout college, I have honed good study habits and techniques that I like to share with all my students so that they can have similar success in their classes. At UCSB I participated in a program called CLAS, which provided tutoring to college students twice a week for the science department. There I learned how to easily convey information to students and have proven success teaching complex subjects.
A little more about myself, I am 23 years old and currently work as a research associate at a biotech company. I consider myself a very outgoing person and love the outdoors. I think exercise and enjoying the outdoors gave me a lot of balance in my studies and allowed me to be successful academically. Thus, I encourage all my students who are struggling with a problem or a subject to take a breather and go for a little walk to clear their mind. If I am not tutoring on Wyzant's platform you can find me skiing in Tahoe, or rock climbing at the local bouldering gym. I look forward to working with all you students.
I was an undergraduate researcher at UCSB where I studied the effects of macular degeneration. Furthermore, I worked as a tutor for 2 years in my colleges tutoring department called CLAS where I taught a class of 20 undergraduate students.
I got in the 90th percentile on the MCAT, with my strengths lying in Chem/Physics, Biochem/Biology, and Psych/Soc. I only studied for 2 months for the test and still achieved a very high score because I was able to apply certain study techniques that I have developed to condense only the most important information.
