It was a pleasure working with you, Don. Intuit has said that they do not plan to publish any future editions of QuickBooks for Mac. QuickBooks for Mac users are encouraged to call me for details and to discuss which QuickBooks version might be right for them, and whether they would like to use it (such as the online version or a Windows version) on their Mac or on a different computer. We can often cover software selection during a free consultation. Call me anytime.

"Disappointed"

- Jinlan, Lakeside, CA on 2/28/16
Christine replied on 3/1/2017

I'm so sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied. Unfortunately, what you wrote isn't actually correct. Please check your WyzAnt records as WyzAnt shows you were charged for less time than you stated, and of the hundreds of hours I've tutored with them, they have always charged my customers the proper amount. Also, I charged you for less tutoring time than I actually provided as it is my general practice to round down in the customer's favor, which saved you money. To be fair, other things you wrote aren't correct either, but to try to be brief and as previously stated to you, I'm always open to discussing student's concerns and trying to find a fair way to make everyone a happy and satisfied customer. I really do care a lot about my customers and helping them to meet their goals, and really do think that I gave you exceptional service. Again, please feel free to call (or write to) me with any concerns. I'm happy to help!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Accounting

I've specialized in business accounting for fourteen years. I guide business owners in setting up their Chart of Accounts and other features of their accounting system using QuickBooks. I've passed multiple accounting and bookkeeping exams with flying colors including a controller exam.

ADD/ADHD

I'm very experienced at working with both children and adults with ADD and ADHD. I've gained this experience through Sonoma State University where I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and graduated with distinction, and through work as an elementary school teacher's aide, a business consultant and most importantly, life. Through a special studies program at SSU, I designed and completed a community involvement project which included organizing and leading a support group of over fifty adults around the topic of ADD, and researching and presenting psychoeducational information to the group's participants.

Elementary Math

I love math, have consistently received "A's" in math, and have tutored math with great success starting when I was a child tutoring other children over the summers. I worked as an elementary school teacher's aid with K through 6th grade students who were struggling the most. I've recently completed a very thorough review of K through fifth grade math, arithmetic, prealgebra, and additional math topics as a way to stay very familiar with the latest math terminology and teaching methods. I also did this to maintain a very strong foundation in math and to find additional ways of tutoring the various levels of math that I tutor.

General Computer

I graduated with distinction from Sonoma State University where I earned a bachelor's in psychology. I completed a course in learning strategies, which taught me lots of tips and tricks for teaching individuals who are visual learners, those with ADHD, and others.

I'm experienced in Windows, Mac, Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, QuickBooks accounting software and many other computer programs. I've built websites using PayPal, Shopify, Facebook and more.

I received mostly A's in high school and college courses. I continue to study computer programs on my own for school and enjoyment, and also to stay current with the latest trends.

Microsoft Word

I've used Microsoft Word for many years and a variety of documents, including tables and integrating other Microsoft Office programs.

Prealgebra

I love math, have consistently received "A's" in math, and have tutored math with great success on and off since I was a child.

I graduated with distinction from Sonoma State University where I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. There, I completed a courses in algebra and learning strategies. The learning strategies course covered a variety of learning styles.

Over the past few years, I've completed a thorough review of prealgebra and many other math topics as a way to maintain strong familiarity with the latest math terminology, learn new teaching methods, and to maintain a strong foundation in math in order to best help you meet your math learning goals!

I continue to study math for school and fun.

Please contact me for a free first tutoring session!

QuickBooks

I've designed and led QuickBooks community college courses for the award-winning College of Marin in Marin County, California, and QuickBooks seminars and webinars for participants throughout the United States for many years.

Participants have consistently reviewed the content and presentation of my courses with five out of five stars and report retaining and using the information very well.

I've worked for CPA firms and have a Bachelor's degree from Sonoma State University where I graduated with distinction.

Please contact me for details and your free QuickBooks sessions, which we can usually do in the same day you call!

Reading

I love reading, especially about health, medicine, and science in general. I've received a grade of "A" in critical thinking and a score of 100% on the Wyzant reading test.

Study Skills

I absolutely love helping people improve their time management, organization and other study skills and supporting them in their learning and life goals!

I completed a course in learning strategies at Sonoma State University and a variety of time management exercises from two of my psychology professors while studying at SSU. What I learned in the course really helped me a lot to learn other material and to get top grades. I eventually graduated with distinction, thanks in part to what I learned and my great professors. SSU even authorized me to design and complete some of my own courses!

I put what I learned about how to learn into a binder and have added to and refined it for years, continuing to learn about learning, try out new things and apply what I learned.

There is a huge variety of easy, enjoyable things you can do to learn about your own unique learning styles and improve your learning, and I would love to help you do so!
