The research-based programs I teach are created by Lindamood Bell Learning Processes. These programs are based on more than 25 years of research and they really do work. With these programs, I help Pre-K through 12th grade students who are struggling with listening comprehension, expressive and receptive language, reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, math, history, science, test-taking and study skills.

I have also taught many young students to read. I use Science of Reading-aligned, phonics-based programs so that my young students can learn how to confidently sound out words and spell correctly. I would be happy to teach your child how to read in a way that sets them up for success.

I also help many preschool students prepare for kindergarten. We work on pre-reading and reading skills, handwriting skills and Pre-K and kindergarten math skills.

My sessions are implemented online. I find that struggling students feel more confident meeting online instead of in-person and the programs that I use are very effective when implemented online.

I require that parents/guardians sit with the student during all sessions. This gives parents/guardians the opportunity to see their student progress as we move through the programs.

Most of my students have ADD/ADHD or other focusing difficulties, so these are challenges that I work through every day. Over 15 years, I have learned what works and what doesn't work with this population. I use a variety of techniques that I have learned from professionals in the area of focusing difficulties to help my students focus as much as possible during tutoring sessions. I would be happy to share these techniques with you so that you can help your students pay attention more frequently.

I have 11 years of experience working with Pre-K through 6th grade children. I have tutored in all subjects, including homework help. I have helped many children improve their academic skills. I begin with a pre-assessment test so that I can determine which academic program the student needs to go through. I can also communicate regularly via e-mail with the student's teacher in order to ensure that we are focusing on the right concepts. I have helped Pre-K through 6th grade students improve in the areas of reading, spelling, writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary, study skills, test preparation, history, science and math.

I have helped ESL/ESOL students learn English for 12 years. I worked for a local school district teaching English to ESL/ESOL students and I have also tutored many ESL/ESOL students one-on-one. We work on English speaking, grammar, vocabulary, reading, reading comprehension, spelling, writing and phonics. I have worked with several students who had very limited English skills and have helped them to be able to converse, read and write at a proficient level. I use successful reading, writing and phonics programs to help improve English skills as well as practice workbooks and hands-on activities.

I have over 15 years of experience teaching phonics to children who are in Pre-K through 6th grade. Much of my experience is in teaching Pre-K students how to read. I use research-based reading programs that emphasize phonics to help my preschoolers become strong readers who know how to sound out unfamiliar words. One of my students started tutoring with me when he was 4. Today, he is one of the top readers in his kindergarten class. One of his recent reading tests had a goal of 8 points. He scored 60 points on that test. Let's work together to help your preschooler develop strong phonics skills that will help them for the rest of their life.
Study Skills

Study Skills

Since students who struggle with study skills often struggle in multiple subject areas, I use a general comprehension program to help students to first understand what they are studying. This program also works on recall skills, vocabulary-building, note-taking, and written expression. As we progress through the program, I teach the student to summarize and synthesize large amounts of information that is presented to them in their textbook. We start by reading short passages and progress to chapters in their textbooks. I have found this particular program to be very beneficial for those students who seem to have difficulty remembering dates, facts and details from passages or chapters. The program teaches the student how to understand and absorb information from any subject. Most importantly, the student is more likely to remember the information when it's time to take their test.

We’re working on Visualizing and Verbalizing for my older teen son who has significant language deficits in receptive and expressive language. Gabrielle has enough experience to know exactly where to start and she is able to constantly adjust content to target needs - so that you’re not spinning your wheels or wasting time. I appreciate that! Unlike some other tutors, she gives me work to do with my child between lessons. This maximizes the value of the tutoring time. Efficient, patient, and flexible to student needs.

Gabrielle has obvious expertise in what she does, particularly implementing approaches with students who have great difficulty with foundational learning areas. She is efficient with her assessments, patient with students who have negative associations with learning/school, and understands that the needs of each student varies — and more importantly, she’s able to adjust! As helpful for me as it was for my child

Gabrielle offered exceptionally helpful ideas for making homework more bearable for my daughter. She also had great suggestions to help aid longer-term retention of the material. In addition, she made some helpful suggestions concerning a discussion with my child’s teacher. I have an older child with dyslexia and Orton Gillingham worked beautifully with her; however it hasn’t been nearly as effective with my youngest. Gabrielle’s techniques are based on Lindemood Bell...time will tell, but it seems this method may be a better fit for my youngest. We started working with Gabrielle just a month ago but I’m really excited about the long-term learning potential and benefits of her work with my daughter.
