About Liz

Bio

I have been teaching for more years than I care to admit, but haven’t tired to the joy I experience when the light goes on! I started teaching an evening class at a local community college when I was a graduate student and discovered a passion for education. Once I had completed my Ph.D. in chemistry, I went into research but was pulled back into teaching. I have taught middle school, high school and general Chem at college.

I started teaching an evening class at a local community college when I was a graduate student and discovered a passion for education. Once I had completed my Ph.D. in chemistry, I went into research but was pulled back into teaching. I have taught middle school, high school and general Chem at college.
I’ve helped students with general studying techniques including time management and focus. I have taught all levels of chemistry including AP Chemistry for over 20 years and have helped students study for the ACT Science and SAT subject tests.

I am a recently retired high school teacher with over 40 years experience. I served as the science department chair in a private high school for the last 15 years of my career. We used the HSPT to help place students appropriately in 9th grade classes.

I have been teaching high school for over 30 years. I have used both the Chemistry Olympiad and the Regents exam in my honors and AP chemistry classes. Typically my students will perform the lab experiments and used released test questions for practice.
