I’m a certified Math teacher with a degree in Mathematics and a postgraduate diploma in Education. With over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience in both Singapore and the Bay Area—including at a reputable private PreK–12 school for gifted learners—I bring a deep understanding of various Math curricula. While I specialize in the Singapore Math approach, I’m also highly proficient in a wide range of teaching methods and programs. I have extensive experience preparing students for Math competitions, as well as standardized tests such as the SSAT, ISEE, ACT, SAT, school placement exams, and Cambridge assessments.

I have a strong passion in guiding students to achieve their academic goals, carve out their path of success and be a confident life-long learner.

I look forward to making learning enjoyable and easy to understand for the students in need of support (Grade 1 to 8, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and more). I can also help those who want to learn the Singapore Mathematics curriculum.

For the students to improve their grades effectively, I vary teaching approach to suit students’ learning style, ensuring conceptual understanding and strengthening their problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong conceptual understanding allow the students to internalise the learning and commit it to their memory easily. I am capable of providing meaningful learning experience, effective learning guidance and scaffolding for students, enabling them to build on their prior knowledge and develop cognitively. I closely monitor and assess students’ learning and performance consistently. Students are provided with ample practice and timely feedback.
