Hello! My name is Luke. and I’m a rising sophomore at Duke University with a strong passion for teaching and helping students grow academically and personally. Over the past four years, I’ve accumulated over 400 hours of volunteer tutoring, beginning in high school as a peer tutor across various subjects. I’ve worked with students of all ages.

My teaching experience extends beyond traditional tutoring. I led a team of 19 students in both Lincoln-Douglas and Parliamentary debate formats. Under my guidance, six students qualified for national tournaments, and four placed at the national level. I've also spent summers volunteering at local schools or tutoring at nonprofits. Whether I'm leading a full classroom session with slide-based modules or working one-on-one, my approach is always responsive to the student. In personal sessions, I prioritize a student-led method: I gently guide them toward recognizing their own errors and patterns, only stepping in directly when there's a deeper conceptual misunderstanding.

Qualifications: I currently hold a 3.93 GPA at Duke, and I intend to specialize in quantitative finance. In High School I had a 1590 SAT, and tutored 8 students, increasing SAT score by a median of 150 in 6 weeks. I took 15 APs in High School including but not limited to: Chemistry, Calculus BC, Physics C/EM, Biology. I ended with 14 5s. Feel free to ask me about any subjects or general help!

In my free time, I like watching football, cooking, playing video games, and petting the dog.
