Beside fostering a curiosity for the natural sciences, I also strongly believe that reading and writing are essential tools for personal growth, critical thinking, and self-expression. I read widely even now - about 30 to 50 books a year - and can speak to the purpose of building a strong reading habit. I specialize in personal essay writing, helping student's craft compelling narratives based on their own experiences with clarity and purpose, and to see their story in a new light. I am currently working with students to start drafting college essays - its a great time to start to avoid a rush in the fall. And, based on my success at applying for college, graduate programs, and fellowships, I've also been assisting friends and family members in developing materials for college and graduate applications for many years.
