Hi, I'm Wesley and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Department Honors in Biochemistry (3.9 GPA) from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I love teaching students chemistry and organic chemistry. At UCLA, I took the physical science/engineering series for organic chemistry (Chem30A/B/C) and was an undergraduate teaching assistant for an organic chemistry class for Dr. Hung Pham. I received the Hosmer Stone Award in April 2019 for best academic performance in organic and general chemistry at UCLA for the class of 2021.

I am a patient tutor and am willing to spend as much time as possible for you to understand class material. Other than tutoring organic chemistry, I also have experience in with ACT and SAT exams. I was able to score a 35 on the ACT and a 2150 on the SAT. I also scored a 163/161/6.0 on the GRE. When I was applying to college, I was accepted to UCLA, UC Berkeley, NYU, UC Davis, UCSD, and UCSB. In high school, I achieved 5's in AP English Language, AP English Composition, and AP US History and a 35/36 on the ACT. I also achieved 99th percentile (6.0 AWA) on the essay writing portion of the GRE when applying to Columbia Law School. I am very familiar with literary analysis, personal statement writing, and argumentative writing as a J.D. candidate at Columbia. While I was a STEM undergraduate major, much of my favorite classes were the analytical writing courses in Buddhist history, Art history, Western/Middle Eastern History.

I am a 2nd year Biochemistry major at UCLA. I have a 3.989 GPA and have been a Deans Honors student in all the quarters I have been at the university. I have taken organic chemistry 1-3 and two organic chemistry lab classes, achieving all As in these classes. I was recently awarded the Hosmer Stone Award in April 2019 for the highest academic performance in organic chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the class of 2021.

Absolutely AMAZING tutor!

He was extremely thorough, and went over every little part of each practice problem with such detail but made it all flow together which I could understand it! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! You won’t regret booking a session especially if you are in need of organic chemistry help! :)

Great for older people!

Times have definitely changed! I last took a Chemistry class in the mid-90s, so I will admit to being apprehensive when dipping my proverbial toe back into this pond. Wesley was able to break down the concepts for me into practical parts and checked in to ensure there was understanding. Many tutors will monologue throughout the lesson, but Wesley took the time and didn't make me feel terrible about being behind. The patience that was shown, along with the gentle teaching, made me feel more confident in my Chemistry lectures. His availability also mirrors real life: not everything happens between 0800 and 1700! I appreciate knowing that I can set up an evening or weekend session! I highly recommend Wesley as a tutor, especially if you're like me, returning to chemistry classes after decades of absence.
