Hello, my name is Gordon, and I'm excited to help high school and college students succeed in psychology, English, and history. During both my undergraduate and graduate studies, I sometimes participated in study groups where I helped classmates understand psychology concepts, improve essay writing, and prepare for exams. Through these experiences, I developed a tutoring approach focused on explaining difficult ideas in a clear and simple way. I enjoy helping students break down complex topics, strengthen their analytical thinking, and build effective study skills that can improve their performance on assignments, essays, and tests.
I earned a 5 on the AP English Literature and AP U.S. History exams, graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a 3.9 GPA, and completed my Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at San Diego State with a 3.9 GPA. As a tutor, I will work with students on a variety of academic goals, including AP exam preparation, essay writing, test preparation, understanding psychology concepts, and developing strong study habits.
My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve their grades, and feel prepared for their academic challenges. I believe education helps students develop critical thinking skills and opens doors to college and future career opportunities, and I’m excited to support students as they work toward their goals.
