Hi, I'm Monika! I graduated from the University of California, San Diego, in 2023 with my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, minor in Cognitive Science and Biology. I have been tutoring for over 7 years, working with middle school, high school, and college students. At UCSD, I was both a one-on-one tutor for my peers in general chemistry (AP Chemistry) and biology and an instructional assistant for a biology course, in which I helped the professor run the class for hundreds of students. Given the high density of students I worked with in the limited amount of time we had each session, I am a very efficient tutor, making sure to address my students' needs as straightforwardly. I take pride in building long-term relationships with my students, wanting to watch them excel and build their confidence. I create detailed lesson plans on a spreadsheet, consolidating the session's details for later reference. I am also generous with the notes we make during the lesson, making everything available to my students both during and after the lesson.
My main philosophy with teaching is that it is a two-way street, and I am highly receptive to feedback from my students regarding how I can best cater our time together for their success.
