Hi! I’m a fourth-year Computer Science major with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I have earned Dean’s List honors every quarter since my first semester of college and graduated high school as Valedictorian and Magna Cum Laude. Academic excellence has always been important to me, but what truly motivates me is helping students build confidence and realize they are capable of more than they think.
I have been tutoring since 9th grade and have worked with students from 3rd grade through college in subjects including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Economics, Japanese, English, Physics, and introductory Computer Science. From 11th grade through my sophomore year of college, I served as a summer Teaching Assistant, supporting classroom instruction and working closely with students who needed additional guidance in math and English. At Cal Poly, I was selected as a Learning Assistant for General Physics I, where I facilitated small-group problem-solving sessions and helped students strengthen their analytical thinking and conceptual understanding. I also worked for two years as an Instructional Student Assistant and grader for Introduction to Computer Security, where I supported students in developing foundational programming and cybersecurity skills.
Through these roles, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to quickly identify where students are getting stuck. My teaching style focuses on building deep understanding rather than memorization. I break down complex problems into clear, manageable steps and explain not just how to solve them, but why each step works. I adapt to each student’s learning style and aim to create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are part of growth.
