I am a Music Educator and Performer with 15 years of classroom teaching experience, both at the High School and College levels, and 20 years of experience teaching private lessons. I have both Bachelor's of Music and Master's of Music Degrees, and my life and passion is teaching, performing, and composing. It is my absolute joy to help aspiring musicians and students, of all levels, in connecting to, and excelling in, their own musical pursuits.

As a teacher, my expertise is in Music Theory, Ear Training, Jazz Performance and Improvisation, and Woodwind studies (saxophone, flute, clarinet). I have performed professionally for over 25 years all over the US. I enjoy working with students of all levels, starting with the foundations of essential instrumental technique, tone production, reading, repertoire, rhythmic studies, and moving into advanced areas of performance and musicianship. I'm always interested in hearing what students are interested in learning as well! My goal is to make lessons clear and organized for students, and understandable and fun, while also targeting the areas needing development for that individual.

While I was a Performance Major, I also emphasized Music Theory heavily in both my Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees. I specialize in teaching Music Theory, and I taught Music Theory and AP Music Theory courses for 10 years in the classroom setting, in College and High Schools. In particular, my AP Music Theory students have consistently been some of the most successful and high scoring students in a large network of schools. I have diverse tools and insights into teaching and preparing students for the very rigorous AP Music Theory Exam. I identify students' understanding effectively, and I will strategize a manageable plan for success for them!
