Algebra 1

I have tutored both high school and middle school students alike in Algebra 1 through private sessions and an after-school tutoring program. With a 7 in IB Mathematics Analysis and Approach and an approach centered on comprehension, I cater my tutoring sessions to each student’s specific needs, whether they be homework assistance, concept review, or lesson plans. Chemistry

I am a passionate general chemistry tutor with over three years of experience in studying and tutoring this subject. With a 5 in AP Chemistry and a 7 in IB HL Chemistry, I am very familiar with standardized testing as well as the high school and entry college-level curriculum for general chemistry. My approach emphasizes establishing a fundamental understanding of the concepts as I’ve found this to be the most effective way of learning, and am willing to assist with homework, review concepts, or teach lessons.

College Counseling

I have helped countless students prepare for their college careers over the last three years. From deciding what colleges to apply to, developing personal statements, and completing college applications, I utilize a personalized approach that factors in each student's circumstances and needs in order to deliver the best outcome! My specialty is with the University of California and California State University systems, helping students into schools like UC Berkeley, UCLA, and more! With my college counseling students, I offer a variety of flexible session formats so they can choose what works best with their schedule and goals. I am currently offering the following options: 1) Students may request a free 15-minute consultation to discuss what the student needs, where they are at with the application process, and what lessons with me would look like. College counseling can be expensive, so I want to ensure each student gets the help they need and knows exactly what that would look like before making any commitments. 2) Students may schedule traditional one-on-one virtual meetings. Here, we can work on brainstorming ideas, filling out applications, editing essays, and more. My base rate is $80/hr. 3) Students may schedule asynchronous meetings where they send me essays to read over and leave feedback. This is a very popular option for students who have already started their essays and mainly want help revising them. All a student needs to do is send me any essays they need help with, and I will send back a fully annotated copy within 48 hours, with no meetings necessary. My rate for shorter essays (roughly the length of a UC PIQ or about 350 words) is one-quarter the price of an hour or $40/essay. Longer essays (more than 350 words such as a personal statement) are half the price of an hour or $80/essay. Elementary Math

With a 7 in IB Mathematics Analysis and Approach and over 2 years of tutoring experience in an after-school program, I offer a one-on-one comprehension-based approach to all students from grade school to high school wishing to advance their math skills. I focus on drawing connections between mathematical concepts and real-world applications as I have found this to be particularly effective in helping elementary school students understand the subject better. Elementary Science

With over 5 years of experience in high school and college level chemistry, biology, and physics, science has long been my passion. I have taught as a TA in elementary science and helped students through an after-school tutoring program as well. I am a computer science major with over 7 years of programming experience, including 4 years with Java where I have studied abstract data structures such as arrays, 2D arrays, stacks, queues, binary trees, hash maps, heaps, and graphs along with other CS concepts such as abstraction, Object-Oriented Programming, and recursion. I’ve created an organizational tool for a healthcare professional using Java, and have received a 5 on AP Computer Science Principles, a 5 on AP Computer Science A, and a 7 on IB HL Computer Science. Microeconomics

Scoring a 5 in AP Microeconomics and a 6 in IB Economics, I have been tutoring microeconomics to high school individuals and groups for 3 years. Additionally, I have served as an assistant economics coach for a high schoo’sl Academic Decathlon team, helping students from 9th to 12th grade develop a groundwork understanding of economic theories, models of different firms and markets, and real-world connections. Prealgebra

From common core to pre-calculus, I have tutored various middle and high school students in math in an individual setting and through an after-school tutoring program. Most of my experience centers on algebra and precalculus, though I have found that my mathematics background, earning a 7 in IB Mathematics, and comprehension-based approach leads to a similar degree of success in prealgebra as well. I offer both in-person and virtual meetings to best support my students with homework, conceptual review, and lesson plans as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Precalculus

I have tutored high school students one-on-one during the summer and through an after-school tutoring program with a strong emphasis on precalculus. Receiving a 7 in IB Mathematics Analysis and Approach, I have a firm understanding of the IB and high school curriculum and tailor my tutoring session with those courses in mind. I offer a summer lesson plan designed for those wishing to prepare for precalculus in the upcoming school year where I cover some of the more challenging topics. I have scored a 5 in AP Statistics and completed multiple research projects that involve using statistical analyses, linear regressions, hypothesis testing, and modeling.
