I graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology. I am very passionate and in the sciences, healthcare, and tutoring. I especially love teaching Elementary Math, and Middle/High School Science and English.
In high school, I volunteered with K-1 ESL students online during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I would manage breakout rooms of about 5 students at a time, giving them additional help in learning class material. Around the same time, I was tutoring a private 4th grade student in a variety of subjects, most notably, Reading Writing and Math, with some history and geography. I was told by the student's parent that their child was finally excited to learn their class material after a few weeks of tutoring with various methods.
I found that the methods most helpful in tutoring elementary school students was through practice problems, guiding them in doing class assignments, breaking down complex concepts, helping to create "study guides", and using diagrams/drawings. I also found that teaching children how to access the world around them to learn was both fun for the student and helped them apply their expanding knowledge. The most important factor in deciding which methods to tutored with, was always based on the student's learning style. I will work in tandem with the student and parent to decide on which methods we use.
While at San Francisco State, I was a Fall 2025 student teaching assistant for a former microbiology professor. In this role, I was grading papers and providing detailed feedback to students to help their understanding of the concepts in addition to their lecture and lab. I also was asked by the professor to provide feedback and reports of areas where students have struggled and where lesson plans may need some additions.
I am able to do both in-person tutoring (student homes or local libraries) and/or online (Zoom). I am BLS/CPR certified.
