Hi! I’m an educator, counselor, and mentor with over 12 years of experience working in higher education. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and later completed my Master’s in Counseling. My career has focused on supporting students through college advising, career exploration, academic success strategies, and graduate school preparation.

I was on Wyzant back in 2018 when I tutored a student in AP Psychology. I’m excited to be back! Since then, I’ve taught a range of undergraduate and graduate-level courses, including Intro to Counseling, Intro to Career Counseling, Multicultural Human Relations, and first-year practicums.

I believe in hands-on learning, asking thoughtful questions, and making sure students truly understand the material. I apply an equity lens in my teaching. I keep my approaches flexible and responsive so that every student feels supported in a way that works best for them. Each year I am asked to write 8–10 letters of recommendation for students moving on to the next phases of their career. Additionally, I’ve mentored nearly two dozen students who have successfully gone on to graduate school. I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence about subject matter and feel clear about their academic and career goals.

Feel free to reach out I’d love to work with you!

Approved Subjects

Career Development

Career Development

I specialized in Career Development during my Master’s degree in Counseling at San Francisco State University, where my graduate training focused on career theory, careee assessment, and career decision-making models. My academic preparation includes applying major career development theories, administering and interpreting career assessments, and supporting diverse populations in career exploration and planning. I taught a graduate-level Introduction to Career Counseling course in Fall 2019 and again in Fall 2025, where I instructed future counselors on career development theory, practical interventions, and ethical practice. In addition to teaching I have over 10 years of experience in higher education providing direct career advising, graduate school preparation support, and individualized career coaching. My expertise combines theory, practical application, and real-world advising experience to help students clarify goals, explore pathways, and develop actionable career plans.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and have over 10+ years of experience providing college counseling and academic advising in higher education. My work includes supporting students with academic planning, major exploration, graduate school preparation, and career decision-making. I regularly write 8–10 letters of recommendation each year and have mentored nearly two dozen students who have successfully gained admission to graduate programs. My approach combines structured planning, goal setting, and personalized support to help students feel confident and clear about their academic and professional paths.
Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365

I use Microsoft 365 extensively in both personal and professional settings to manage communication, collaboration, and workflow systems. My experience includes Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive, with a focus on productivity, organization, and effective digital communication. I help individuals understand how the tools integrate across the platform to streamline tasks, improve time management, and enhance efficiency. My approach is hands-on and practical, ensuring learners can confidently apply Microsoft 365 tools in real-world academic and workplace environments
Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook

I use Microsoft Outlook (Office 365) daily in both personal and professional settings to manage communication, scheduling, and organizational workflows. My experience includes advanced email management, calendar coordination, shared calendars, task tracking, rules and automation, and integrating Outlook with other Office 365 tools. I help individuals develop practical organization systems that improve productivity, reduce inbox overwhelm, and streamline time management. My approach focuses on teaching efficient, real-world strategies that can be immediately applied in everyday or workplace environments. My training approach is hands-on and practical. We’ll work directly in your Outlook setup to organize your inbox, calendar, and tasks in a way that fits your day-to-day needs. I teach simple, repeatable systems (folders/categories, rules, flags, calendar routines) so you can stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed. The goal is to help you feel confident using Outlook features to stay organized and on top of priorities.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I have supported students in developing personal statements for a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs through my extensive background in higher education. In addition, I have guided students through scholarship applications, helping them craft compelling and authentic narratives. During the 2018–2019 academic year, I served on a scholarship committee where I reviewed and ranked applicant statements, giving me valuable insight into what makes an application stand out. Through structured feedback and intentional mentorship many of the students I’ve worked with have earned scholarships or gained admission into their desired programs.
