I am a pre-med student at Monterey Peninsula College with a 4.0 GPA and a strong background in math and science coursework. I have completed courses including general chemistry, precalculus, calculus, and additional college-level STEM classes, earning A grades in these subjects. I tutor algebra, precalculus, calculus, and general chemistry because these are areas where I have both academic success and direct experience helping other students understand difficult material.
My tutoring experience includes working as a tutor at the MPC STEM Center and Math Learning Center, serving as an embedded tutor for Calculus I, and assisting as a teaching assistant for calculus. Most of my formal tutoring experience has been with college students, both one-on-one and in academic support settings, but I am also comfortable helping high school students who are preparing for college-level math and science. Through these roles, I have helped students work through homework problems, prepare for exams, review difficult concepts, and build stronger study habits.
My tutoring style focuses on helping students understand the reasoning behind each step instead of simply memorizing procedures. I usually begin by identifying where the student feels stuck, then I break the problem into smaller parts and guide them through examples until they can explain the process back to me. I try to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more independent and confident learners.
