Hi!

I have two and a half years as a group and online tutor for introductory biology at De Anza Community College and three years’ experience as a freelance formal logic (propositional and predicate logic) tutor while attending Columbia University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2018 with a B.A. in philosophy, receiving departmental honors. I have long experience throughout my academic career of writing argumentative and philosophical essays. My expertise are with argument structure, content, and logic.

I am currently taking a gap year before embarking on PhD in philosophy.

I have over three years of experience tutoring both sentential (propositional) logic and predicate (first order) logic at an advanced college level. I have experience with several methods of proof as well as syntax, semantics and symbolization.

I am also very familiar with all the logic courses being taught at De Anza.

I have written countless argumentative and philosophical essays over the last 6 years in addition to acting as an editor and argument couch at the college level. I have received exceptional scores on the reading section of both the SAT and GRE.

If you have any questions about exactly how I can help you improve any area of writing, reading, or logic, don't hesitate to contact me to work out a customized schedule and lessen plan.

Logic

I have a degree in philosophy (with departmental honors) from Columbia University. While there I took multiple classes in classical logic (propositional and predicate) as well as an advanced course in non-classical logic. While at Columbia, I tutored fellow students in symbolic logic and have continued to tutor it post graduation.

Great Tutor

Chris made himself available last minute. I despise symbolic logic and yet he helped me break it down into pieces I can understand.

Excellent logic teacher

Chris was able to explain things to me and added value to my learning. I was able to understand new concepts in formal logic much better. I'll definitely use him in the future.

More than just the facts!

In one session Chris was able to untangle my massive confusion with my LOGIC 101 prepositional proofs and natural deduction. Apparently, he supplied the perfect amount of step by step instruction and conceptual insight. How do I know? Well, the next day I was able to complete and submit three new correct proofs. My next unit is on predicate logic and knowing that Chris is available, should I need the help, gives me a good deal of confidence. Oh yeah, he's really welcoming and easy to work with.

My daughter has met with Chris three times for Logic, and each time she has walked away saying, "Now I get it!" Chris is personable, engaging, patient and fun. Look no further.
