Hi!

I have two and a half years as a group and online tutor for introductory biology at De Anza Community College and three years’ experience as a freelance formal logic (propositional and predicate logic) tutor while attending Columbia University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2018 with a B.A. in philosophy, receiving departmental honors. I have long experience throughout my academic career of writing argumentative and philosophical essays. My expertise are with argument structure, content, and logic.

I am currently taking a gap year before embarking on PhD in philosophy.

I have over three years of experience tutoring both sentential (propositional) logic and predicate (first order) logic at an advanced college level. I have experience with several methods of proof as well as syntax, semantics and symbolization.

I am also very familiar with all the logic courses being taught at De Anza.

I have written countless argumentative and philosophical essays over the last 6 years in addition to acting as an editor and argument couch at the college level. I have received exceptional scores on the reading section of both the SAT and GRE.

If you have any questions about exactly how I can help you improve any area of writing, reading, or logic, don't hesitate to contact me to work out a customized schedule and lessen plan.

Logic

I have a degree in philosophy (with departmental honors) from Columbia University. While there I took multiple classes in classical logic (propositional and predicate) as well as an advanced course in non-classical logic. While at Columbia, I tutored fellow students in symbolic logic and have continued to tutor it post graduation.

Very Helpful, Expert Philosopher

Chris helped me clarify the core logic (and how to object to it) for my Political Philosophy term paper. As always, he was sharp, assuring and helpful with his feedback. He has a strong grasp of many different sub-fields within philosophy!

Very grateful to Chris

Chris was great and I'm really grateful that our paths crossed. He knows philosophy and does well at explaining it in terms that I can relate to and understand. I have a very short amount of time to grasp some bigger (to me) concepts and I definitely recommend Chris if you're needing philosophy help.

Straightforward, knowledgable, and patient

I needed help with some propositional derivations for my logic course, and I was having a really hard time understanding/solving it. Chris was able to help me in just one session and was very straightforward with the process, which I appreciate, and knowledgable on the subject. He explained all the rules in a way that was easy to understand and retain. Super chill, kind and understanding, 10/10 would recommend and work with again (: Thank you, Chris!!

Kept It Simple - Logic Proofs!

Chris was able to break down the methodology of the proofs in a very simple and succinct manner that assisted me in better understanding the logic behind the rules and how to apply them. Chris also took the time to review a couple of proof exercises to assist me in validating that I was grasping the concepts for an upcoming exam. Thank you, Chris.
