Aloha,

My name is Nicole T. and I am a graduate from Arizona State University with a degree in Conservation Biology. I completed most of my degree at UH Manoa where I was pursuing a degree in marine biology and was lucky enough to be able to intern studying coral reef and was published for the first time as part of a research project mapping coral calves in Kaneohe Bay. I completed university at Arizona State University where I majored in conservation biology and achieved my second publication studying how anxiety and depression affect student performance in undergraduate science courses. I have since switched directions from field work and am now pursuing a masters in education with the hope to teach high school science and inspire the next generation of students to become passionate about conservation.
I have over a decade of experience tutoring math and science, with experience working with kids who have learning disabilities like dyscalculia, and understand how frustrating it can be to try to make sense of numbers that won't stay still. It takes a greater level of patience, but anyone can excel at math.
I am comfortable tutoring others in a large variety of subjects such as algebra, geometry and elementary math. I also preformed very well on my SATs, receiving a score of 2200 overall, and a perfect on the mathematics section of the test. I honestly love math, and really enjoy tutoring kids of all ages to help them understand how great math can be! One of the great things about mathematics is that there is more than one way to come to every answer, it's just a question of finding the method that works best for the individual.
Although I have the most experience helping people with math, I am also comfortable with many other subjects. As a biology major, I have taken classes in all range of science- from geology to chemistry to ecology and more. I legitimately enjoy learning- in all fields- and I love being in school. I look forward to working with others to help them further their education.

Knowledgeable and very caring tutor

Nicole is very patient, she went through the entire home work / subject step by step to be sure the subject was understood, then patiently explained while each problem was being solved. Nicole went beyond expectations and came to our house yesterday to accommodate our schedule. Thank you Nicole!

Knowledgeable and flexible tutor

This is our first visit with Nicole. Nicole works very well with my child, who is typically very shy. She helps my child with her 8th grade writing English and science lab report, makes great suggestions to improve her skills. She is willing to review her papers online and via emails which help us save times with in-person visits. Highly recommended.
