I have about 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology. I taught Calculus, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Number Theory, and Real Analysis to undergrads while getting my PhD at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

After completing my postdoc in Germany, I came back to California and taught mathematics to middle school and high school students.

My teaching style is basically a question and answer session. I guide you but also ask you questions to keep you engaged. I think that's the best because I think students learn best when they are participating and engaging with the material actively rather than passively just by listening or taking notes.

I think that's the best because I think students learn best when they are participating and engaging with the material actively rather than passively just by listening or taking notes.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I have a PhD in mathematics from UCSC. My thesis was in the representation theory of finite groups, which heavily uses linear algebra. Aside from this, I have taught upper and lower division linear algebra to UCSC undergraduates, each about 3 or 4 times. Suffice it to say that I know linear algebra quite well! More importantly, I have vast experience teaching linear algebra at the university level. Because I have taught it so many times, I know the best ways to explain all the ideas and exactly what to do so that the students understand the concepts and are able to apply them in problem solving situations.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have taught prealgebra to middle school and high school students. My teaching style is basically a question and answer session. I guide you but also ask you questions to keep you engaged. I think that's the best because I think students learn best when they are participating and engaging with the material actively rather than passively just by listening or taking notes.
