I enjoy working with teenage students. As you can see from my reviews, I am good at motivating them and achieving results. I know we will be able to work as a team in order to ensure your student reaches his or her full potential.

First I assess a student's strengths and weaknesses. Next I sketch out a game-plan to meet his or her needs. The goal is to encourage sustained growth and independence culminating in a high score. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I have worked with high performing and mainstreamed high school students for many years. This includes work inside, and outside of the classroom. It is important for me to understand a parent's goals, and build rapport with the student. I start with a review of the student's schedule, and syllabus. I track the grades given to assignments in order to identify patterns, and trends. I also take the time to look through individual assignments noting the student's strengths, and challenges. I will build on the pupil's strengths, and minimize the stress from tests. I repackage information in a number of ways that make it more memorable, and fun. I also work alongside the student, practicing a number of skills that he or she can emulate. I carefully explain every step in the process, and allow the student to practice what must be done.

Excellent AP World History Instructor

My son really struggled with the work load and pace of WAP. Ryan helped him plan his schedule and taught him how to study. Ryan is really good at explaining the history concepts. He completely understands how the AP test is scored, and how to prepare for it. My son got a 4 on the AP test! Thanks Ryan!

Well prepared

Ryan prepared a detail plan for the US History final even with a very limited time of just a few weeks. When he taught each event, he explained not only what happened, but also interesting facts behind history. That makes things easier to remember. Highly recommended.

Great APUSH Teacher

Ryan is a very dedicated, knowledgeable, and giving teacher. He goes above and beyond for his students to improve their APUSH skills. We can call him anytime for any concerns and questions, he would listen and tries his best to help. He is also very patient and pleasant to work with. In addition to face-to-face tutoring, he answers emails fast and helps to correct homework via email. My kid got a 5 in 2015 APUSH test. We are very happy to work with him.

Very Dedicated and Patient

Ryan tutored my son in AP World History and he was a godsend. My son's teacher was terrible and Ryan was able to present the material in an easier to understand format that made the DBQ essays much, much simpler. He showed up on time every week and often stayed longer than required because they were so focused on the lesson. My son was hating history until he met Ryan who inspired him to love it again. If you want someone who is passionate about the art of teaching, and dedicated to finding a way to connect with your child's learning style, then call Ryan. He is awesome!

Great Tutor !

We would highly recommend Ryan. He has a comprehensive knowledge of US History and helped our teen with APUSH. Always guided our teen with what was important to cover in the chapters of his text book.

Great Tutor for AP US History

Great History Tutor! Our son was struggling with some concepts in his AP US history class and was pretty stressed out about taking his AP exam. Ryan, who teaches AP history at another local high school, was able to help our son understand the concepts he was missing, and coached him on how to approach and break down the essay parts of the exam. Ryan was very patient, and knowledgeable, and friendly, and gave our son the confidence he needed to do well on his AP test as well as the key to do well on essays for all his AP classes. I would highly recommend Ryan for any tutoring needed for high school- and college-level history.

Awesome tutor

Ryan was a great tutor! I came to him with very little time to study for the CSET. He helped me organize the time I had left to prepare. We made a feasible plan to get the most out of the two weeks I had before retaking the CSET. He also provided amazing study books. He also gave me great tips on writing portion of the test. Ryan's a great guy. He checked in with me throughout the two weeks, and provided positive feedback and talks. Having him as a tutor really helped prioritize my study habits as well as material to pass the CSET. Thanks man!

Personable, Smart, Accommodating Teacher

Ryan is very knowledgeable about AP European History and came prepared with multiple resources. He provided test-taking strategies for both multiple choice questions and written essays. He is a super nice, patient person who wants my student to succeed. Highly recommend Ryan.

The Perfect Tutor!

We chose Ryan as a tutor for our son Ross for AP European History. Ryan is very calm, patient, and had some great ideas to help our son get organized and moving in the right direction, toward passing the remaining tests he had in class, and the AP European History exam itself. Ryan also helped our son with his organizational skills, which was invaluable. Having another set of ideas on how to get a 16 year old organized and motivated was very much needed in our house! We would highly recommend Ryan as a tutor for your son or daughter. Thanks, Ryan, for doing such an awesome job. We appreciate you very much!
