I am an experienced Biology and Chemistry educator with a strong academic background in the biological sciences, including an M.Phil. in Biotechnology, and hold California teaching credentials in both Biology and Chemistry. I currently teach AP Biology and Honors Chemistry at the high-school level and also serve as an AP Biology Reader, giving me extensive familiarity with AP Biology curriculum, exam expectations, and free-response questions.

I have more than a decade of teaching experience, including approximately 10 years teaching Biotechnology at the college level, followed by several years teaching high-school science in California. I have taught students with a wide range of academic abilities in classroom settings and have extensive experience providing individualized support, reteaching difficult concepts, and helping students prepare for quizzes, unit exams, and AP-level assessments.
My teaching approach focuses on conceptual understanding rather than memorization. In Biology and AP Biology, I help students connect biological processes, analyze experimental data, interpret graphs and models, and develop strong scientific reasoning and FRQ skills. In Chemistry, I break complex problems into manageable steps and emphasize dimensional analysis, atomic theory, stoichiometric reasoning, significant figures, and problem-solving strategies.
I am available to tutor Biology, AP Biology, Chemistry, and Honors Chemistry, including course support, test preparation, homework guidance, and AP Biology exam preparation. My goal is to identify where a student’s understanding breaks down and then use clear explanations, questioning, examples, and targeted practice to build both understanding and confidence.
