I'm Margaret! Currently an undergrad studying Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences (EECS) major at UC Berkeley.

I recently went through the college admissions process myself and was admitted to over 15 universities, including UC Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), Carnegie Mellon, Rice, USC, Georgia Tech, UIUC, Boston University, and more. Having navigated the admissions process firsthand, I understand what it takes to build a compelling application while balancing academics, extracurriculars, and personal essays.

Over the past year, I've worked one-on-one with more than 10 students on their college applications, helping them brainstorm essay topics, uncover meaningful personal stories, organize and refine their essays, improve clarity and flow, and strengthen their overall writing. I also help students develop a strong application strategy by providing guidance on extracurricular activities, Common App and UC activities sections, supplemental essays, resumes, and presenting their experiences in a way that is both authentic and impactful. I typically review essays over multiple revisions, providing line-by-line feedback, and specialize in the Common App, UC Personal Insight Questions (PIQs), and supplemental essays.

When I was applying to college, I wrote well over 100 essays across a wide range of universities. Through that experience (and by studying many successful applications afterward) I've developed a very strong understanding of what admissions officers look for and how to make an application stand out, while remaining genuine. I provide thoughtful, detailed feedback throughout every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining to polishing final drafts. Whether you're just beginning your application or putting the finishing touches on your essays, I'm happy to answer questions, and offer honest advice and recommendations.

I'll help you craft a powerful application that reflects who you are.

I'm an undergraduate studying Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences (EECS) at UC Berkeley and was admitted to over 15 universities, including UC Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), Carnegie Mellon, Rice, USC, Georgia Tech, UIUC, and UCs. Over the past year, I've worked one-on-one with more than 10 students, helping them brainstorm essay topics, refine personal statements, strengthen supplemental essays, and develop an effective college application strategy through detailed, line-by-line feedback over multiple revisions. I specialize in the Common App, UC Personal Insight Questions (PIQs), supplemental essays, activities section, and resume reviews, helping students present their experiences in a way that is authentic, compelling, and memorable. After writing well over 100 college essays myself and studying many successful applications, I've developed a strong understanding of what makes an application stand out, and I'd love to help you craft one that genuinely reflects who you are.
