I’m a transferring computer science student who recently completed four years at San José City College, where I earned multiple associate degrees: an Associate of Science in Computer Programming, Mathematics, and Engineering, as well as an Associate of Arts in Scientific Inquiry and Quantitative Reasoning. My academic background gives me a strong foundation in math, logic, and problem-solving, and I enjoy helping students break down challenging material into ideas that actually make sense.

I’ve been tutoring on campus since Fall 2023 and regularly work with students in Calculus I, II, and III, Precalculus, C/C++, Java, and Data Structures. My experience includes one-on-one tutoring, small group sessions, drop-in tutoring centers, and online instruction. I primarily tutor college-level students, but I’ve also worked with high school students and adult learners. Many students return to me week after week, and I’m often asked to work with students outside of scheduled tutoring hours due to strong results and positive feedback.

My teaching style is concept-first, especially in math, so students understand why something works before memorizing steps. I adapt to different learning styles and explain complex topics in multiple ways, with a strong focus on problem-based learning and exam preparation. I care a lot about building confidence, and students frequently tell me that tutoring with me helped them succeed in difficult courses and feel more comfortable asking questions. I strive to create a supportive, welcoming, and LGBTQ+ friendly learning environment where all students feel respected and encouraged.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have over three years of experience teaching and tutoring Algebra 1 to high school students, college students, and adult learners in classroom, workshop, library, and online settings. I focus on building strong foundations in variables, equations, and problem-solving skills while helping students gain confidence in math. With an associate’s degree in mathematics, computer science, and engineering, I emphasize clear explanations and step-by-step reasoning. My goal is to make Algebra 1 approachable and manageable for all learning styles.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have three years of experience tutoring Algebra 2 concepts for high school and college-level students, both in person and online. I help students understand more advanced topics such as functions, systems of equations, polynomials, and logarithms. My background in mathematics and engineering allows me to explain abstract ideas in practical, easy-to-understand ways. I focus on strengthening problem-solving skills and preparing students for higher-level math courses.
Calculus

Calculus

Calculus is my favorite subject to teach, and I have over three years of experience tutoring calculus concepts to college and advanced high school students. I help students develop a strong understanding of limits, derivatives, integrals, and their real-world applications. With an associate’s degree in mathematics, computer science, and engineering, I focus on both conceptual clarity and problem-solving efficiency. My goal is to make calculus feel logical, approachable, and rewarding rather than overwhelming.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have experience tutoring differential equations for college-level students, helping them understand both the theory and practical applications. I guide students through first-order and basic higher-order differential equations using clear, step-by-step explanations. With a strong background in mathematics, engineering, and computer science, I emphasize conceptual understanding alongside problem-solving techniques. My approach helps students connect differential equations to real-world systems and advanced STEM courses.
Geometry

Geometry

I have over three years of experience teaching and tutoring geometry to middle school, high school, and college students in classroom and online environments. I help students develop strong spatial reasoning skills and understand concepts such as proofs, angles, triangles, and coordinate geometry. My teaching style focuses on clear visuals, logical reasoning, and real-world examples. I aim to help students build confidence and accuracy in geometric problem solving.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I have experience tutoring linear algebra concepts for college students, including vectors, matrices, systems of equations, and linear transformations. With a background in mathematics, engineering, and computer science, I help students understand both the computational and conceptual sides of the subject. I focus on connecting linear algebra to applications in technology, data, and engineering. My goal is to make abstract concepts intuitive and accessible.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have extensive experience working with students who are building foundational math skills through Pre-Algebra. Over the past three years, I have helped learners of all ages master topics such as fractions, decimals, integers, and basic equations in supportive learning environments. I prioritize patience, clarity, and confidence-building to ensure students feel comfortable progressing in math. My goal is to create a strong base that prepares students for success in Algebra and beyond.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have three years of experience tutoring Precalculus for high school and college students in both in-person and online settings. I help students connect algebraic concepts with functions, graphs, and introductory trigonometry. With a strong academic background in mathematics and engineering, I focus on conceptual understanding as well as exam preparation. My teaching style emphasizes clarity and readiness for calculus-level coursework.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have taught and tutored trigonometry concepts for over three years, helping students understand angles, functions, identities, and real-world applications. I break down complex ideas using visual explanations and step-by-step problem-solving techniques. My mathematics and engineering background allows me to explain both the theory and practical uses of trigonometry. I aim to help students feel confident applying trig concepts in advanced math and science courses.
